What we collect
Quiz inputs you provide (substance, approximate amount, time since ingestion, weight range, observed symptoms, a name for your dog, optional breed). At checkout, your email address and payment metadata processed by our payment processor. We do not collect your real name unless you create an account, and we do not collect precise location — only country-level information from your IP address (or a ZIP code if you use the optional nearest-vet feature).
We record the page you first arrived on and the website that referred you, to understand which pages and channels help dog owners find us.
How we use it
- To generate your educational information summary.
- To process your payment.
- To maintain a legal-defense log of inputs, outputs, model version, disclaimer version, and consent state.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not use your inputs to train machine-learning models without your explicit opt-in.
Data retention
Pet details entered during a session are kept only for that session unless you create an account. Output logs (inputs + outputs + model version + disclaimer version + consent state + hashed IP + country) are retained in encrypted storage for a minimum of 24 months as a legal-defense record. Payment records are retained as required by law (typically 7 years).
Your rights — delete my data
You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing support@dogpoisoncheck.com with the subject "Delete my data". We will respond within 30 days. Some records may be retained where legally required.
California residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share). To exercise these rights, email the address above.
EU/EEA / UK residents (GDPR)
If you are an EU/EEA or UK resident your local data protection laws may apply. You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and port your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Our legal basis for processing is your consent and our legitimate interest in providing and defending the Service.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for session management. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers in the current version. Non-essential cookies are off by default; you may consent to additional cookies via the cookie banner.
Third-party services
We use a payment processor (Stripe), a cloud database provider, and AI inference providers strictly to operate the Service. None of them receive your information for their own marketing.
